"I
believe that in the art world there are as many “right” ways to create
as there are artists. I am what one might call an intuitive artist.
Often I will just play and experiment with various media or materials until
the shapes, contrast, or colors create images that just FEEL right. |
To achieve the desired
sense of movement, in both my sculptures and two-dimensional works, I often
exaggerate certain aspects of the form. I believe that these exaggerations,
combined with “out of the ordinary” color combinations, help to create
the rhythms that flow throughout my work. Many times, as is the case
in this series, I will use the female form as a personification of feelings,
ideas, places or events."
